Waiting on Wednesday #3

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking theSpine and is a way to showcase upcoming released that you are excited for!

Title: Dreams of Gods & Monsters
Author: Laini Taylor
Series:  Daughter of Smoke & Bone #3
Release Date: April 8, 2014
Find at: Amazon | B&N | Goodreads

By way of a staggering deception, Karou has taken control of the chimaera rebellion and is intent on steering its course away from dead-end vengeance. The future rests on her, if there can even be a future for the chimaera in war-ravaged Eretz.

Common enemy, common cause.

When Jael's brutal seraph army trespasses into the human world, the unthinkable becomes essential, and Karou and Akiva must ally their enemy armies against the threat. It is a twisted version of their long-ago dream, and they begin to hope that it might forge a way forward for their people.

And, perhaps, for themselves. Toward a new way of living, and maybe even love.

But there are bigger threats than Jael in the offing. A vicious queen is hunting Akiva, and, in the skies of Eretz ... something is happening. Massive stains are spreading like bruises from horizon to horizon; the great winged stormhunters are gathering as if summoned, ceaselessly circling, and a deep sense of wrong pervades the world.

What power can bruise the sky?

From the streets of Rome to the caves of the Kirin and beyond, humans, chimaera and seraphim will fight, strive, love, and die in an epic theater that transcends good and evil, right and wrong, friend and enemy.

At the very barriers of space and time, what do gods and monsters dream of? And does anything else matter?

Why I am waiting:
I am waiting for this story so I can marathon the whole thing. I read the first book last year and lived it and have been holding off on the second so that I don’t have to cry myself to sleep when I can’t read the third one right away. I really cannot wait to be able to read this series all the way through. Karou is one of my favorite female protagonists and this series is so beautifully written that I can’t get over it all. I really just love everything about this series. If you have not checked it out I highly suggest you do! I have heard nothing but great things about the second book, whit people saying it is better than the first. So here’s to hoping the third outshines both and is a great conclusion to the series.

Waiting on Wednesday #2

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breakingthe Spine and is a way to showcase upcoming released that you are excited for!

Title: Ruins
Author: Dan Wells
Series:  Partials Sequence #3
Release Date: March 11, 2014
Find at: Amazon | B&N | Goodreads

Kira, Samm, and Marcus fight to prevent a final war between Partials and humans in the gripping final installment in the Partials Sequence, a series that combines the thrilling action of The Hunger Games with the provocative themes of Blade Runner and The Stand.

There is no avoiding it—the war to decide the fate of both humans and Partials is at hand. Both sides hold in their possession a weapon that could destroy the other, and Kira Walker has precious little time to prevent that from happening. She has one chance to save both species and the world with them, but it will only come at great personal cost.

Why I am waiting:
I have read the first book, have the second and am now just waiting for the third so I can marathon them all. I really like Kira; she is a pretty badass MC and is going through some self-discovery in these books. They are very fast reads and enjoyable.

Waiting on Wednesday #1

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breakingthe Spine and is a way to showcase upcoming released that you are excited for!

Title: Dorothy Must Die
Author: Danielle Page
Release Date: April 1, 2014
Find at: Amazon | B&N | Goodreads

I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask to be some kind of hero.
But when your whole life gets swept up by a tornado—taking you with it—you have no choice but to go along, you know?

Sure, I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little blue birds. But I never expected Oz to look like this. To be a place where Good Witches can't be trusted, Wicked Witches may just be the good guys, and winged monkeys can be executed for acts of rebellion. There's still the yellow brick road, though—but even that's crumbling.

What happened?

Dorothy. They say she found a way to come back to Oz. They say she seized power and the power went to her head. And now no one is safe.

My name is Amy Gumm—and I'm the other girl from Kansas.
I've been recruited by the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked.
I've been trained to fight.
And I have a mission:
Remove the Tin Woodman's heart.
Steal the Scarecrow's brain.
Take the Lion's courage.
Then and only then—Dorothy must die!

Why I am waiting:

This just sounds amazing! I love the thought that Dorothy went back to Oz and became dark and has her three trusted friends helping her control everyone. I really can’t wait to see how everything has changed and what impact Amy has on the people of Oz.
